Mentoring Opportunities

1:1 Mentoring

We offer the opportunity to volunteer as a mentor positive & role model to support Year 7 students that struggle with the transition to secondary school.

Applicants are selected, briefed and ‘buddied up’ with a student and then meet for a weekly 1:1 chat.

This programme has been hugely successful, not only by boosting the confidence of the Year 7 students but is also very rewarding for the Sixth Form volunteers.

Paired Literacy & Numeracy

Each Year 12 tutor group supports literacy or numeracy once a week with selected lower school students in a tailored & supervised tutor time session.

Extra-Curricular & Wellbeing

We have strong links with many local businesses including Aston Martin Formula 1, VW Group UK & Nifty Lift, and are incredibly privileged to be offered many amazing extra-curricular opportunities for our Sixth Form students. These include Women in Engineering events, tours of the Aston Martin F1 site and employer encounters at various companies.

We make annual trips to the National Apprenticeship Show and the UCAS Discovery Event at Bedford University, where students can talk to representatives from over 120 apprenticeship providers, employers and universities.
